Six weeks and counting since the stem cell transplant. The time feels like very slow progress and yet seems to slip by quickly. I expect to be back at UHill part-time in another six weeks. It will be five months since I was last with the congregation.
This past week has not seen anything momentous. I feel quite healthy. Eating well. Sleeping well. The main struggle is the frustration that comes with the ongoing feelings of fatigue. I am tired much of the time. It is very noticeable after I have a good day with some good energy. Just when it seems that I might be on the road to a stretch of days without fatigue I wake up exhausted. I guess that this is the reason that the doctors have said I am not to go back to work yet!
The good news is that I am well enough to be frustrated that I don't have the energy to be doing more. I have to keep reminding myself that it is also good news that I am on the other side of the chemo and transplant and am out of the woods when it comes to the danger of infections due to low white blood counts. Now I am wandering through the woods of fatigue, learning to patiently walk my way out into a life that looks something like normal.

And the covenant which we have made on earth let it be ratified in heaven.
In particular: "Let us be employed for you or laid aside for you,"
As with all creation you are in the hands of God and there is no better place to be.
